travel to Angkor Wat from Malaysia without flying ..part XXIII

{Lone Ranger Finding His Loving Wife}

(September 19, 2015)
On the first day of our visit to the renowned fascinating historical Angkor Archaeological Park in Siem Reap, Cambodia, we able to see a lot of the heavenly temple buildings' remains from hundreds of years ago.
In this episode of story, I will continue to bring you to see the amazing of history.

We had our lunch at a park inside area of the Angkor Archaeological Park. There are numerous of vendors selling rice porridge, fried noodle and other delicious Khmer foods at the designated park.

After we tasted the local's dishes, our stomach were full but legs getting lazy, whatnot with the heat of sunny day and overwhelming tourists. But then, with curiosity to look for more, we're still moving on.

The Angkor Park area is so big and consists of many different temples carrying different names and means where these temples were built at separate area and mostly explored and then revealed by present time archaeologists. From one site to another site, it's either you walk if you are a marathon runner or else get a full time private driver.

TRAVEL HACK : Buy a travel guide book of Angkor Wat (and read it) before you boarding the plane to Cambodia. And, exercise to train your stamina.

While our pro-tour-guide and "pro"-good-driver brought us into another site, we were so confused which is which. So, don't let the names drag you down if you really not a "pro" , just pay attention to what the pro-guide's telling and feel the greatness of history.
confused ?

so lucky to have a good guide

trees of hundreds of years

flowers and seeds from hundred years too ?

capturing the goods for all

capturing the archaeologist :)p

doors with fine & probably accurate geometric lining

buildings' wall made of this stone

stone rich in hardening minerals
The stones used to make the wall are mostly red in color, which is rich in minerals such as iron as a great hardening material for building. It's bit of thought that our buildings in present time now are mostly made of sand stones; when you drill, you'll get lots of sands splashed onto your face !

some Buddha carvings had been "disappeared"
The empty-empty blank0 portion drawn our attention, which according to the pro-guide, " the original Buddha carvings were purportedly cut-out during the war-time, when changing of empire's religious from Buddha to Hindu " !

An 'archaeologist' try to re-structure for prevention of collapse
There are NGOs and efforts from the United Nation to start preventing these historical holy sites from vanished. Re-structuring with modern day techniques and materials seems a bit tarnish the ancient's great work; but still it's a must prevention step to carry on, at least for this mean time while Khmer people are very much rely on tourism to grow their country.

Oo ! A tree on top of roof

another holy carvings been 'cut-out'

greenish plants grow on walls

This is another great initiative drawn my attention

hooking up each other without any nail. 'Lego' was invented by this :)p

Do you notice the carvings was 'changed'
" Some of these holy Gods (either Buddha or Hindu) carvings had been changed everytime when they were changing their empire during war-time. When the original carve was a Buddha, the winning side - a new empire (Hindus) would change or carve the look of Buddha into Hindu Gods; while if the Buddhists won and came back years after, they did the same and changed it back to Buddha look. "

attracted by the amazing of mother nature

don't play-play, you'll get trapped then

prayer for the good for all
