travel to Angkor Wat from Malaysia without flying ..part XXVII

{Lone Ranger Finding His Loving Wife}

(September 19, 2015)

There were still innumerable sites to be explored in the Cambodia's renowned heritage, Angkor Wat. Histologically, Angkor Wat is one of many worship places built in Angkor Archaelogical Park hundreds of years ago.

classic reflection @ Angkor Wat

The entire park is so big and consists of numerous different buildings carrying different names and means where these buildings were built at separate area and mostly explored and then revealed by archaeologists in the present time. Tourists really couldn't fully cover the entire area in a day trip. The admission pass sold here are available from USD20 ( 1 day ), USD40 ( 3 days ) or USD60 ( 7 days ). I heard that the Cambodian government is going to double-up the price in February 2017.

surely will come back again for another romantic pose
With its countless breathtaking and stunning buildings, embodied by fascinating sculptural decorations and carvings, one really finds his modern camera device handicap.

Despite our footsteps were too little to cover the entire area of Angkor Archaeological Park, we did able to feel the entire community in the past was so united, intelligent and determined to 'delivered' such an incredible park which yet to achieve nowadays, notwithstanding with modern techniques.

We finished our first day trip in Angkor Wat by late afternoon. Before leaving, my lovely wife tried to be naughty when she saw this ..

trying to grab coconut after hot-hot day ?

is it a coconut ? Full with fresh coconut juice ?

You wish, that wasn't coconut. It was sugar palm, which is called "THNOT" in Khmer.

Watching the remains of the once best buildings in the world, with tentatively thought of the past, and letting go of the past, letting go all unhappiness in our life, breathing in fresh forest air with eye-seeing breathtaking scenery, lets welcome all the goods then ......

Still on the first day of our visit to the Angkor Archaeological Park , we're moving on to another part of this large area.

a hidden Kingdom
Angkor Wat is the ultimate destination inside the Angkor Archaeological Park.
Angkor Wat

the sign of God
Angkor Wat consists of many levels.
walking up the cloud

There are a lot more buildings inside an upper level platform. After walking up to the first level, there are a few more levels inside the flat and large concrete platform.

a high incline stair to another level

capturing spectacle constructions & marvelous carvings
While we pursuing to the west side of this level, we seen numerous of full body portrait carvings on the surrounding wall surface.

Some scholars refer these women portraits as devatas (deities) if portrayed in large and individual sculptures; whereas if portrayed in smaller carvings and in group, then they are apsaras (dancers and singers of the gods).
Do you aware that all these devatas or apsaras carvings are different in eyes, nose, mouth and face outline? Even the hair styles, jewelry designs, hand positions, fabric patterns are different from one to another.

now you don't see
